GeoFencing is a new feature for Flex App users that will allow for tracking of gym visits using location services within the app settings on your phone.
When first logging into the app a pop up will appear asking if you would like to turn on location services for FOD (Fitness On Demand). You will want to make sure you have selected "always". If there is no option for "always", please see the troubleshooting guide below for next steps.
Once the location services have been approved, a second pop up will appear requesting to sync your health app information. This is an important step for battery usage optimization as it will prevent the Flex App from needing to check your location constantly to see if you are within you gym facility. By selecting "Allow", the Flex App will only check on your location when your health app senses your location is changing.
Once you have made a selection on that pop up, your health app settings will display allowing you to choose which options will sync within your Flex App. It is recommended to keep all settings as approved for this feature to perform at it's best.
Once your settings have been verified and turned on, you will be be able to locate a banner at the bottom of your home screen within the app that will state which facility you are at when you are within the boundaries set up for your home facility as seen in the image below.
From the "My Gym" page within your profile on the Flex App you will be able to view your recent gym visits and track your patterns and visits. Keep in mind that gym visits may only be logged once every 6 hours, meaning that if you forgot something in your car and ran outside for a moment, the app will not log a second gym visit in that time frame.
Troubleshooting:
If you are running into issues with your gym visits not logging, or if you do not see the "always" option on the pop up when you first sign, please verify in these places to ensure your setting are correctly selected to enable this feature.
In your setting within the Flex App reflect the left image below (with green check marks for Location Services and Motion and Fitness Services) this means you selected sharing options upon set up, but we need to verify within the phone settings for the app. If you show the red X next to the settings, you declined the pop up requests during initial set up and will need to turn on the options within your phone settings for the app.
iPhone settings:
From the settings app within your iPhone you will locate the "FOD" or "Flex App" and select it.
Once you are within the app settings, you should see the below screen (this phone has dark mode enabled). You will need to ensure that the location setting is set to "Always" and the Motion and Fitness option is toggled on as in the image below.
If your Location settings do not reflect "Always", tap on the setting and choose "Always" from the list as displayed below. If you did not see the option to select "Always" at initial set up, this is where you will verify the selection. Please note that "Precise Location" is also toggled on for this setting.
