The FitnessOnDemand mobile app is a companion app that can be used in conjunction with your GROUP5 FOD kiosk. The app can be used to view your facility's schedule, select classes to play on your kiosk, and stream videos on the mobile device when the user is at your facility. The mobile app can be downloaded via the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
Note: The mobile app will only have unlocked videos when used near a GROUP5 kiosk. If you have an older generation kiosk and are interested in using the mobile app in your facility, please reach out to your Customer Experience Advisor or the support team here for information on upgrading your equipment.
Using the app
The mobile app utilizes Bluetooth on your mobile device to detect when you are near a GROUP5 iPad kiosk. When the app detects the location, a bar will be displayed at the top of the screen on iOS or the bottom of the screen on Android indicating "You're at X" location.
User Login
All users will need to log in to the FOD mobile app. Accounts are free to create by simply selecting Get Started when launching the app. Any user can create an account with an email address and password, or by linking their Facebook account.
Streaming Videos
When you are at a location with a FOD kiosk the top row of videos will be unlocked. Choose any video in the top row or select View All above the row to search the library. All videos that are available on the GROUP5 kiosk at the facility will be available in the mobile app. When you select a video to play you will be prompted to either play it on your mobile device or cast it to the FOD kiosk display.
Schedule
The facility's schedule can be found on the Schedule tab. If you are at the facility it will be found automatically, or you can search for nearby facilities based on your current location or by zip code.
Subscriptions
The FOD mobile app has a subscription service available to allow users to use a portion of the FOD library anywhere. The subscription can be purchased from the home page of the app by pressing the Subscribe or Try Now buttons. The subscription is purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and any billing questions should be directed towards those services.
Troubleshooting
Location not detected/Videos locked
If you are near a GROUP5 kiosk and the top row of videos are locked, your mobile device is likely not picking up the Bluetooth signal from the kiosk. Bluetooth will need to be enabled on the mobile device and the iPad kiosk, and the iPad kiosk screen must be on.
Step 1 - turn on Bluetooth on your mobile device.
Step 2 - turn on Bluetooth on the iPad and set the screen to remain on at all times.
- Tap Admin on the top-right
- Enter the passcode 2411
- Press the home button to exit the FOD app
- Tap Settings.
- Tap Wi-Fi on the left and connect to your facility's Wi-Fi network.
- Select Display & Brightness on the left and set Auto-Lock to Never.
- Tap Bluetooth on the left and verify that Bluetooth is on.
- Tap Privacy on the left and select Bluetooth.
- Ensure that FOD is enabled to allow Bluetooth access
- Tap Privacy on the left and verify that Location Services are on.
- Scroll down on the left and select FOD.
- Set Location to Always and Notifications to Allow Notifications.
- Press the iPad's home button again and launch the FOD app again.
Login Trouble
If you have trouble logging in with your email address and password, tap Forgot Password at the bottom of the login page. You will receive a password reset email. The link in this email must be followed on your mobile device with the FOD app installed and will not function on a computer. Once you follow the link on your mobile device you will be sent to the app to create a new password.
Cannot find FOD facility
If you have trouble finding your facility on the Schedule tab when searching with your postal code, please submit a support ticket here.
